MEET THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We are a volunteer run organization and any volunteer efforts help to continue the benefits our members enjoy, the NAPO Virtual chapter is run by members like you. There are many volunteer opportunities to grow your skills while helping our chapter grow. You could serve on the Board, a committee, or even work on a project to leave your mark. THE DUTIES OF THE BOARD MEMBERS

Interested in connecting with other Organizers? Want to support your chapter? Know someone who would be a good leader (including yourself)? Nominate yourself or someone you know to serve as a Chapter Officer (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) or a Director (Membership, Professional Development, Communications & Technology, at Large).

Officer and Director terms are for one year, beginning May 15. The Nominating Committee gathers nominations and nominee statements from October 30 until nominations close December 31. The slate of nominees is announced in January/February and elections for Board and Officer positions are held during the Annual meeting. If you have questions about a position or would like to nominate someone (including yourself), please email nominations@napovc.com.

President
  • Supervise the Chapter's business and activities
  • Create the agenda and preside over Board and Membership meetings
  • Recommend suitable replacements for Board vacancies
  • Approve obligations of the Chapter, sign contracts and manage subcontractors
  • Serve as liaison to NAPO and other Chapters
  • Assign or delegate other duties to Officers and Directors
Vice President
  • Act in place of the President when the President is absent or unable to act
  • Perform other duties as requested and/or delegated by the President
Secretary
  • Record, prepare, disseminate and maintain minutes of the Chapter Board of Directors meetings and Chapter Membership meetings
  • Maintain Chapter historical records and operations documents (Bylaws, Policies & Procedures Manual)
  • Send Chapter Membership meeting and Board of Directors meeting minutes to NAPO headquarters

Treasurer
  • Serve as the custodian of the Chapter’s funds and be responsible for maintaining these funds in a bank account and disbursing them in accordance with Chapters Disbursement Policy
  • Prepare and forward to NAPO headquarters required year-end financial reports and budgets
  • Prepare and submit a proposed budget to the Chapter Board of Directors for approval before the fiscal year begins October 1
  • Collect and account for Chapter dues and meeting fees
  • Pay Chapter financial obligations
  • Review contracts and/or agreements
Director of Membership
  • Oversee hospitality and registration
  • Respond to membership inquiries
  • Conduct new member orientation
  • Oversee the “Summer of Connections” event
  • Produce and distribute new member information packets and materials
Director of Professional Development
  • Maintain program calendar
  • Procure and communicate with speakers
  • Schedule and facilitate program portion of Chapter meeting
  • Create, distribute and review program evaluation forms
  • Oversee the CEU certificate process

Director of Communications & Technology
  • Oversee the Newsletter
  • Oversee the Website
  • Supervise electronic communications
Director of Marketing
  • Increase visibility for the Virtual Chapter and our members through the Chapter's social media sites
  • Support the “Summer of Connections” and other chapter events through social media and POINT
  • Oversee the GO Month Event
Director at Large
  • Duties and projects as assigned
