How to Respect Neurodiversity in your Writing and Client Work with Clare Kumar presented by the Authorship & Publishing SIG Listeners will walk away with practical strategies for creating content for and interacting with the neurodivergent. As a member of the community herself, Clare will share: • A brief overview of neurodiversity - what does it mean and who are we talking about? • Understanding neurological safety - the conditions that encourage us to "keep calm & carry on" • Considering neurodivergence when we write • Key practices when taking care of neurodivergent clients About the PresenterClare Kumar is a long time NAPO member. After identifying as a highly sensitive person for almost a decade and coaching neurodivergent clients for even longer, she came face to face with her own eye-opening diagnosis of Autism with a side order of ADHD in April of last year. She now spends her time speaking and consulting, continuing to support Pliio - the clothing organizing tool that helps you keep clothes neat, and hosting the Happy Space Podcast - where inclusion meets design. Clare is located in Toronto and is also the Regional Director of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program in Canada.
