How to Respect Neurodiversity in your Writing and Client Work with Clare Kumar presented by the Authorship & Publishing SIG

Listeners will walk away with practical strategies for creating content for and interacting with the neurodivergent. As a member of the community herself, Clare will share:
     • A brief overview of neurodiversity - what does it mean and who are we talking about?
     • Understanding neurological safety - the conditions that encourage us to "keep calm & carry on"
     • Considering neurodivergence when we write
     • Key practices when taking care of neurodivergent clients

About the Presenter

Clare Kumar is a long time NAPO member. After identifying as a highly sensitive person for almost a decade and coaching neurodivergent clients for even longer, she came face to face with her own eye-opening diagnosis of Autism with a side order of ADHD in April of last year. She now spends her time speaking and consulting, continuing to support Pliio - the clothing organizing tool that helps you keep clothes neat, and hosting the Happy Space Podcast - where inclusion meets design. Clare is located in Toronto and is also the Regional Director of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program in Canada.

This call is open for all NAPO members. To join, please find the Zoom link in the NAPO To Do October 5th newsletter.
