Building a Financial Structure to Optimize Business Growth
Event Info
Launching and building a successful business is both exciting and challenging. Most entrepreneurs start a business based on a passion – for building a product, offering services, charitable endeavors, to name a few. Their objective is to develop their products/services to meet the needs of their intended client base, and market that product to generate the income to make the endeavor worthwhile. These are wonderful objectives and quite attainable IF the entrepreneur also focuses on the backbone of his/her business – THE FINANCIALS.
One of the top 5 mistakes business owners make is the lack of accurate and timely financial information. There’s no time to develop a financial infrastructure, to understand what the financial figures are “saying”, or to learn how to use financials to strategize for future growth. As such, many owners let this go.
My focus:
- The reasons behind my premise that successful business owners are those that review their financial figures on a regular basis and use those figures for strategic decision-making.
- Understanding financial statements and what they can tell you – details on the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Cash flow strategies for maximizing business growth.
- Data analytics:
- Cash flow - the most important key indicator of a business' health, is often overlooked. I'll discuss ways in which to keep your business' cash flow top of mind and illustrate what happens when this isn't the case.
- Accounts Receivable analysis - Are your customers costing you more than the revenue they are bringing into the company?
- Incremental revenue/profit analysis. Are you growing your revenue profitably?
“Beyond the Numbers” - Case studies will be reviewed with the group to demonstrate the power of financials.
Presentation Goals
- That there are many different but valuable aspects to running a business, some of which are hidden, and not easily understood.
- The value of a comprehensive, usable financial system.
- How understanding and analyzing one’s financial statements can make the difference in implementing and succeeding in a strong growth strategy.
- A complete understanding of cash flow, cash flow management, and its importance to every business.
- How to implement these ideas into each of their businesses.
