Contractions of Space, Time and Money

In this research session, we examine how consumers' preferences change after experiencing a loss (i.e., contraction) of space, time and money. One such contraction explored is that of downsizing or reducing one's belongings. 

 


Gretchen Ross Wilroy

Gretchen Ross Wilroy is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in Marketing at The Pennsylvania State University. She conducts research in the area of consumer behavior, with interests in judgment and decision making, preferences, sensory marketing, and financial constraints. Several of her projects focus on preference changes during times of loss (e.g., financial loss and downsizing). Her work has been presented at various conferences including ACR and BDRM. Gretchen received her B.A. in Economics and Sociology from the University of Virginia and her Master of Accounting from the College of William & Mary. She worked as a CPA for five years before joining academia.
