What is NAPO® ?

The National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals™ (NAPO) was founded in 1983 and has approximately 3,500 members dedicated to helping people and organizations bring order and efficiency to their lives. NAPO’s mission is to be the leading source for organizing and productivity professionals by providing exceptional education, enhancing business connections, advancing industry research, and increasing public awareness.

New to the Industry?



NAPO Membership Categories

Due to our professional standards, as well as our commitment to our clients and profession, we require all new members to join NAPO as a Provisional Member.

In order to advance to Professional Member status
, you must complete our Professional Practices Coursework, which teaches the basics of the Productivity & Organizing industry.

Once you have successfully passed the courses, you will then advance to Professional Member status, which allows you to be listed in our Professional Organizer and Productivity Consultant online directory, as well as the ability to earn NAPO Specialist Certificates and serve on NAPO committees and more. 

Fees: $299 per year + one-time application processing fee of $25

Business Partner: Businesses that manufacture, sell, or distribute organizing and productivity products and related services can join in this category. Fees vary on membership level. See Join as a Business Partner for complete information.

Allied Member: An organizing and productivity professional who does not offer services to the general public may be eligible to join NAPO as an Allied Member.  An Allied Member is typically employed by a government agency, an educational institution, a non-profit organization, or a for-profit entity.

Fees: $299 per year + one-time processing fee of $25 

Student Member: An individual enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university may join NAPO as a Student Member.

Fees: $50 per year + one-time processing fee of $25 

Are you an organizing and productivity business with more than one employee or owner? 

Multi-Person Business: Organizing and productivity businesses with more than one employee or owner may purchase multiple memberships at a discounted rate. Membership through this dues structure is available to the business’s owners, partners, or W-2 employees only; independent contractors are not eligible. Under this structure, business owners and/or employees will share the same renewal date.

All memberships are valid for one year from date of purchase.

All new applications are subject to a $25 processing fee. New Provisional Member applications submitted online will be activated the following business day. It is the policy of NAPO that membership dues are non-refundable. Any requests for exceptions to this policy must be submitted in writing for consideration by NAPO and will be decided on a case by case basis.

NAPO memberships belong to individuals except for those owned by employers. If you own a company and have employees who are not NAPO members, you may use the logo on your website but employees may not promote themselves as NAPO members. 

NAPO encourages each business owner to exercise due diligence and seek legal counsel regarding the choice, use, and registration of his or her company’s name.  NAPO provides no legal guidance regarding business names and takes no position on disputes regarding business names.
