Governance

NAPO® has a governing Board of Directors of eleven volunteer members which has full authority and accountability for the association. In accordance with NAPO Bylaws, the Board decides association policy, sets business goals, approves plans, and monitors their progress. NAPO’s long-term objectives and business priorities guide policy setting and decision-making for the association.

Directors are appointed by NAPO’s President to serve as Board Liaisons to NAPO’s more than 18 national committees. Our committees serve a vital role in NAPO’s long-term success by supporting our mission and the priorities set in our annual business plan.

NAPO Chapters serve our members in over 30 U.S. markets, and our Virtual Chapter brings together NAPO members from around the world. Each Chapter is governed independently by volunteer leaders in accordance with the Chapter’s Bylaws.

The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers® (BCPO) is a division of NAPO. As our certifying body, the BCPO advances the credibility and ethical standards of the organizing and productivity industry. In conjunction with NAPO, the BCPO established and maintains the program for the Certified Professional Organizer® credential.

Through strong governance, a culture of volunteer leadership development, and association management transparency, NAPO lives its mission:  To be the leading source for organizing and productivity professionals by providing exceptional education, enhancing business connections, advancing industry research, and increasing public awareness.
