Who Is NAPO?
The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) is a group of about 4,200 professional organizers dedicated to helping individuals and businesses bring order and efficiency to their lives. Our vision is to have the world recognize the value of organizing and turn to NAPO as the leading organizing authority. Our mission is to develop, lead, and promote professional organizers and the organizing industry.
In addition to serving professional organizers, we aim to help consumers and those interested in becoming professional organizers. We offer programs, information, and guidance for each of these groups.
For the Consumer
For individuals or businesses looking to conquer clutter and chaos, we offer advice and insight on organizing as well as a way to connect with the most valuable organizing resource of all—the professional organizer.
NAPO’s automated Professional Organizer Directory is an easy way for consumers to find professional organizers in their local area. This online directory includes organizers who specialize in a variety of services for both residential and business clients.
For Members
NAPO helps its members reach a level of credibility available nowhere else. The NAPO member logo on a member's business card or Web site tells clients that the professional organizer is part of a recognized and reliable association whose members adhere to a code of ethics when conducting business. Among the benefits our members enjoy are access to educational and networking opportunities, product discounts from NAPO Associate Members, and discounted access to business essentials such as liability insurance, prescription-drug discount cards, long-term-care insurance, and credit-card processing services.
For Other Professional Organizers
Even Professional Organizers who have not yet decided to join NAPO can take advantage of a variety of courses, business resources, and networking opportunities, especially through our annual conference and educational teleclasses. Open to members and non-members alike, they offer expertise and research that can help participants build and improve their skills.
For Future Organizers
NAPO strongly believes that professional organizing is an exciting and rewarding career. For those looking to make a career change, professional organizing can be a fulfilling option. However, succeeding as a professional organizer takes a lot more than just a knack for managing time or coordinating details. It requires knowledge of organizational theory, an understanding of small-business concepts, and an ability to establish strong working relationships with clients. NAPO membership provides access to valuable information that can help organizers acquire and hone these necessary skills.
